It’s time to go shopping…Let’s sparkle!

Complimenting the color of you eye is the most important tip to keep in mind when browsing for your perfect eye shadow shades. Green Shadows do not look good on green eyes unless it is the same color as your eyes. Think of blue green or a more yellow green which will keep you are the right track for perfect shades for you as it is impossible to have eyes in both categories. The same applies for those of you with blue eyes. Don’t go running out to purchase a deep aqua blue for your pale ice blue eyes.

Blending your shadows seamlessly into one another is the foremost important trick to creating the smokey eye. A good set of brushes is a “Must Have” to master the application technique and will give you the needed tools to become a pro in no time.

• You will first want to apply an eye shadow base or in many cases a light weight foundation will do the trick as far as evening out your color tone. There is nothing better than a clean canvas to create your masterpiece.

• Take your lightest shade which this year should be a metallic gold, champagne, silver, opal or pink and brush it from the crease upward to your brow bone.

• Take your deepest shade and apply it heaviest in the inner corner and outer corner of your lid only brushing lightly in the center. You will want to concentrate your lighter shade in the center of the lid to give you a highlighted effect for a more opened eye look.

• At this point, I would recommend a lighter third color although you can easily blend your deepest color with your lighter color and start blending up and out.

• To add depth to your eyes take your deeper color and apply in the crease and pull it out to your corner and below the eye all the way into the inner corner.

• Take a eye pencil or liquid liner and apply closest to your lashes both upper and lower. If need be make run your shadow up to and over your liner so that it is not obvious. You do not want the liner to appear visible although the very dark line next to your eye lashes will naturally make your lashes appear fuller. That is the reason that I recommend lining at the end of the application process. For a bit of added drama you will want to line right above your bottom lashes.

1. Exfoliate or maybe not! It aggravates me when vendors hawk there expensive body exfoliators when it can be a completely unnecessary process before self tanning. No dry skin? No need to exfoliate. If you have rough, dry skin then purchase an inexpensive exfoliators as any will take care of your dry skin problem areas that need to be prepped for self tanning.

2. Shave you legs prior to applying your self tanner. Some say that shaving your legs can create sensitivity to self tanners. If you tend to have sensitive skin, then proceed with a bit of caution. Most women will not have a sensitivity problem with the self tanner application process right after you shave.

3. Always apply Self tanner just after your shower or bathing. Towel Dry your body.

4. You may choose to wear rubber gloves at this point…I don’t. Gloves may be a good idea if you are a true beginner when it comes to using sunless tanners.

5. Apply a dab of moisturizer on those problem areas that seem to absorb and grab the color. The areas of added concern are the hands (primarily fingers, Feet, Knees and Elbows.

6. Do not ruin your manicure. You should apply oil to your finger and toe nails, nail beds and cuticles prior to applying self tanning. Self tanner will seem to end up where you don’t want it. Spend a little extra time on careful attention to details. You will be pleased with the results. Proceed with caution…ONLY KIDDING.

7. If you are planning on self tanning your face then apply a light layer of moisturizer 1st. This will keep your face from getting to dark or depositing to much color where you do not want it. Pay close attention not to blend into your hairline as it will give you a very dirty type of look at the hairline. Remember that if you have a dark spot, age spot or mole on you face that it will also absorb the color and deepen. Always error on the side of less is more on your face. It is never a problem with self tanner to deepen your color with just another application about 2 hours later.

* Do not forget to put tanner on your ears and the back of your neck. As always, wash your hands thoroughly after you tan your face. Generally, I would recommend your face should be your last area that you tan.

8. Begin below the knees, Put a dab (about a dime) on your shin. Apply over shin and calf in a quick circular motion. Work your circular motion all the way down to your feet. Now, add another dime to your mid-thigh area on the same leg. Repeat the circular motion. If you are not using gloves then your will want to wash your palms of your hands and dry. Following the same instructions above do your other leg, stomach, back, arms, chest. If you are not using gloves then make sure to wash and dry your palms after any larger area. In final, apply to the tops of your hands and make sure you do not have any excess in between your fingers. Wash tanner off of palms with a washcloth.

I always apply my favorite moisturizer about 15 minutes after tanning. I find that it always insures that I have a beautiful even tan with no streaking.

Umm! What to wear? Be careful not to dress too soon after your application. Self tanner is not bulletproof and loves to transfer. Wait about 45 minutes to put on anything that you do not want to wash pretty quickly. Do not wear white for several hours after a tanning application.

It is necessary prior to reading this article that you know in fact you may have a skin condition called Rosacea. This skin condition can be very problematic and in many cases require the care of a Dermatologist to keep it in control and in check. On the brighter side, I have seen wonderful cammouflage techniques that can reduce the appearance of red in your skin even if it is Rosacea…It’s worth a try.

First and foremost you need to make certain you remove your cosmetics every night before you go to bed. Yes! Every night you should use a good cleanser and moisturizer. Those 2 products may change the look of your condition right before your eyes in just a few short weeks. Get acquainted with specialized concealers and/or work at blending your very own personalized concealer. Green Concealers can be a highly effective neutralizer of red skin. Have you ever taken a look at the color wheel? You will notice that green sits opposite of red and thus is the great neutralizer of red. Oh the power of Green! Not to mention so politically correct.

• Custom Blending Green Concealer – Purchase a deeper green matte shadow. Take a shade lighter that what you normally would use of liquid foundation. Blend a small amount of the 2 shades together in the palm of your hand. Use either your finger or a sponge to apply a small amount on the red areas of your face. At this point, I prefer to use a small blush brush for just the perfect amount of blending.

My personal opinion is that Cream or Liquid foundation will offer you the best coverage for a red skintone. You will also not if you use a brush to apply your foundation over your green concealer you will achieve not only a good coverage but also one that appears luminous and natural.

It’s so beneficial to think green these days. In the world of cosmetics, green may in fact become your new best friend.

Dark Circles under the eyes are of concern to many women. You will want to use your foundation teamed with a light reflecting white concealer to camouflage the problem.

• Begin with a mixing a small amount of your white concealer with your foundation.
• Apply the foundation mixture using a cosmetic wedged sponge.
• Do not go more than a full shade lighter than your current foundation.
• You will need to know that by using a heavy hand teamed with a shade that is too light for you will only result in “Racoon Eyes”. I know that you are aware of that picture. Not a pretty look.

Are you a woman that suffers from under- eye bags or puffiness? Interesting enough is that those concealing techniques used to hide dark circles will actually accentuate eye bags and puffiness. You will will want to purchase a deeper color than your foundation or search for a ginger color concealer.

• Blend your foundation with a shade that is one to two shades deeper than your current foundation.

I am a contact lens wearer which in some cases like mine will add to eye redness. Several years ago when I was at the Ophthalmologist (Harvard Grad…Credibility?), I asked him what to do about my dry, red eyes that seem to get much worse when I wear my contacts. He told me to purchase Allergan Relief and use it no more than 4x a day. Allergan Relief does the job on two different levels. Relief will not only clear my red eyes but will also deliver moisture that is necessary for my eyes to feel comfortable.

Vitamins are necessary for general eye health. I am not going to recommend any specific eye vitamins (although plenty on the market and more appearing daily). I believe that plenty of foods that we eat are a fabulous source for the vitamins and minerals needed for good eye health which will in turn give you whiter appearing eyes. Did you mother ever tell you that carrots are good for your eyes? True story…Look for vitamins A, B2, C, E and minerals Selenium and Zinc.

Try lining your eyes with Deep Blue and/or use a midnight blue mascara and use violets and deeper blues for shadows. Make sure that you use deep hues of blues as baby blues and pale aqua’s will not accomplish the task.

THROW AWAY your mascara after 3 months and your Eyeliners after 6 months. Old Eye Product are a huge source of eye infections which oftentimes go un-detected. Make sure that you do not put your fingers on or in any eye product that you put directly on your eye.

I think I’ve shared my BEST now! Hopefully you will be looking in the mirror at beautiful Clear whiter and brighter eyes.

At least several days a week I am surviving on too little sleep which is something I have always worn in my EYES…Not any more with this handy little tip.

Your will need to purchase a white pencil or shadow. The other rule you will need to remember is on those particular days when you eyes are looking dull, red, lifeless then by all means avoid pink, rose or purple shadows as they will on make the problem appear much worse. It is best to play a little more minimalist look with your eyes although make sure the BLACK mascara is fairly heavy…after that on the bottom of your eye on the inner area apply your white shadow from the beginning of your lashes to the outer corner. VOILA! Your eyes are completely brightened up and the white of your eye just got a whole lot whiter. Great little trick…So don’t worry so much next time when you want to go out and have a little FUN the night before a meeting. Live it UP!
